Equine Facilitated Constellations combines the principles of Family Systemic Constellations with a deep understanding of equine behaviour and welfare. Horses become part of the wider systemic process while remaining free to be themselves, with no expectation placed upon them to perform or heal.

No. There is no riding involved at any stage of the programme. Our work takes place alongside horses in their natural environment. Students learn to observe, understand, and work respectfully with horses, always prioritising their welfare, choice, and autonomy.
Absolutely. Many students join us with little experience or a lack of confidence around horses.A significant part of the programme focuses on understanding equine behaviour and communication, allowing confidence to develop naturally through knowledge, observation, and experience. Everything is taught in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
Our horses live together as a herd in as natural an environment as possible. Sessions take place in their environment, we do not bring the horses into an arena or ask them to perform specific tasks. The horses always have the freedom to engage or not engage, and their welfare, autonomy, and choice remain central to everything we do.
We believe that if we choose to work alongside horses, we have a responsibility to understand them.Equine behaviour is the foundation of ethical practice. Students learn how horses communicate, how they experience the world, and how to recognise signs of comfort, stress, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring horse welfare remains at the heart of every session.
Traditional Family Systemic Constellations are typically facilitated using human representatives within a group setting. At Equillation, we integrate horses into the constellation process because, when allowed to remain authentically themselves, they can become a unique part of the wider systemic field. Our horses are never asked to perform or take responsibility for a client's healing. Instead, they are free to engage on their own terms, allowing an authentic partnership to emerge while their welfare and autonomy remain protected.

Yes. We have structured our programme to make it accessible for students joining us from overseas while maintaining the high standards of practical learning that are central to the diploma. All theory sessions are delivered live online and take place according to UK time, so international students should ensure they are able to attend these sessions within their local time zone. Our practical training has been designed with our international students in mind. Rather than holding all practical weekends exclusively in the UK, we aim to deliver practical training in locations that are most accessible to each cohort. As our student groups develop, we will identify suitable central locations based on where students are travelling from, allowing us to make the practical elements as accessible as possible while maintaining the quality and integrity of the training. This approach enables us to welcome students from around the world while preserving the immersive, hands-on learning that is such an important part of the Equillation Diploma.
Everything begins with the horse. Our philosophy is built upon horse welfare, choice, autonomy, and ethical practice. We believe horses are not here to carry the responsibility for human healing. Instead, they are honoured as sentient partners, free to remain authentically themselves.By combining contemporary equine behaviour science with Family Systemic Constellations, we create an approach that benefits both people and horses while protecting the wellbeing of each.
To maintain the quality of teaching and ensure every student receives individual support, we intentionally keep our cohort sizes small. This allows for meaningful discussion, close supervision, personalised mentoring, and an immersive learning experience throughout the programme.
